Leadership
Sprague Cook, CEO
Sprague Cook is the founder and CEO of Climate Efficiency Partners. Sprague developed the business model, provides the vision, builds the company culture, leads the company’s growth, and manages operations by leveraging 30+ years of experience in leadership, business growth, project management, and project development.
Cook began his career as a U.S. Navy gas turbine engineering officer serving aboard ships in the Pacific. After the Navy, Cook’s roles included 20 years at Bechtel in senior management with P&L responsibility for large industrial projects and thousands of employees, as well as management of renewable energy project development, finance, and asset management. Following his time at Bechtel, Sprague acquired and led a commercial and industrial HVACR company for more than three years before launching Climate Efficiency Partners.
Cook graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Sprague also graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in HVACR Engineering Technology & Energy Management. Cook holds a Master HVACR Contractor License.
Joe Sacks, CFO
Joe joined Climate Efficiency Partners in July 2024. Joe has extensive corporate and project finance experience through various roles as investor, operator, and lender. Over the course of his 20+ year career, Joe has primarily been focused on investing in the energy and healthcare industries, working for large institutional investors, bank and non-bank lenders, and single-family offices. Immediately prior to CEP, he was the CFO of Greenwood Sustainable Infrastructure, a family-office backed developer / owner / operator of energy projects throughout North America.
Joe graduated from Haverford College in 2005 and is a CFA Charterholder.
Community Connection
CEP works closely with the communities in which we operate.
We develop local talent and provide excellent career opportunities for young technicians coming through the trade schools. We offer training at our facilities and on the job with experienced technicians. Technicians have various exciting career paths, including rising through the technical ranks to the level of Master Technician, progressing from project team member to superintendent and project manager, and pulling years of experience together to become a service manager.
We also participate in local efforts to support a sense of community. These activities include supporting local school sports programs, community events, and outreach programs.
